Garry Law
Director
Garry Law is the Director of Creator Academy, a leading Australian robotics and coding education provider dedicated to equipping students with the skills needed for a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world.
With a background in Media & Communications from the University of New South Wales, Garry began his career as a game developer, gaining international recognition for his award-winning project Sound Storm—an innovative application designed to help children overcome spatial processing challenges through listening-based gameplay. The project received multiple prestigious honours, including a Webby Award, AMY Awards Grand Prix, and recognition at the Good Design Awards, establishing Garry as a creative technologist at the intersection of education and innovation.
Since founding Creator Academy in 2017, Garry has worked extensively with schools, educators, and students across Australia to deliver high-impact STEM programs. Under his leadership, Creator Academy has trained hundreds of students each year and supported teams competing in major international robotics competitions, including FIRST LEGO League, VEX Robotics, and RoboCup. His students have achieved outstanding results, including Australian National Championships titles and qualification for World Championships on multiple occasions.
At the core of Garry’s educational philosophy is the Creator Academy CodePlay™ System—a structured, programming-first approach that teaches students to think critically, articulate their ideas, and apply coding knowledge across multiple platforms and real-world contexts. His programs emphasise long-term skill development over short-term outcomes, ensuring students are prepared for future careers in STEM and beyond.
Through initiatives such as CodingDrills.au, Garry continues to expand access to high-quality coding education, helping students develop consistency, confidence, and a genuine enjoyment of learning to code.
